“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak” – Rachel Zoe
Trends come and go but having your own style is what makes you stand out. We spotted a few different looks over the weekend and we love how these fashionistas and fashionistos are embracing their own style. Check them out:
Look #1: The Brooklyn City Slicker
Her Misfit clutch in hand, pink shoes and funky jumpsuit, this Fashionista is ready to make an impression.
Look #2: The Upper East Sider
With just a simple white shirt and black shorts, this fashionista is evoking a city chic look for a night out on the town.
Look #3: The Wall Street Bachelor
Move over Chuck Bass, this bachelor is taking over!
Look #4: The Hampton’s Heart Breaker
Every town has it’s heart breaker, and this lover boy is channeling his inner Nate Archibald.
Which was your favorite look?
Here’s a going out outfit idea:
I’m wearing ASOS Tshirt dress, Saint-Laurent shoes and Haitian designer Paula Coles burgundy clutch.
“Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.”– Yves Saint Laurent
… Mwen se Haiti
A fresco seller
A tap-tap driver
The laughter of students in schools
The sound of rara announcing Carnival
A cold Prestige, a refreshing cola, a rum that relieves
A smile on the face of an unfortunate
… I am Haiti

It doesn’t matter where you are, or what you’re doing. Haiti is part of you, and never forget that.
(Me) – “What time are we going out tonight?”
(Friend #1) – “8:00”
(Friend #2) -“8:00 Emma time? or real time?”
Have you ever had this conversation? I’m willing to bet a lot.
My friends always invite me out an hour or two earlier before the actual time. They so often tell me “Magdoos at 8” when we actually meet up around 9 or later. They even make jokes about it and call it Emma Time (rolling my eyes). And you thought Haitians ran late?
So why is it that some of us girls take longer to get ready? Throwing on a pair of jeans and a top, putting on lipstick and mascara seems so easy, right? So why do we complicate our lives? Trying on our whole closet before deciding on our first outfit choice anyway. And do not get me started on how long I take if there’s a special someone I might run into.
I have been going on and on trying to come up with answers to these questions for years and still cannot come up with one. Yes us girls are complicated at times, yes we like to look our best, and yes we always try to find the smallest, most insignificant details to complain about. When I say “I have nothing to wear!”, it simply means I haven’t found the outfit that goes with the person I feel like in that moment. It may be a mood, a specific attire required (Has anyone else had an “electric blue” dress code? I have… sigh) or even a goal (impressing that cute Magdoos bartender…wink wink).
At the end of the day, we can’t really blame women for this. After all, looking one’s best isn’t a fault right? Maybe we’re perfectionists, maybe we love the chaos of flying multi colored garments. Who knows? The importance is to remember to be patient. I for one, don’t mean to make people wait for my indecisiveness… Ok maybe a little 😉
We are loving this retro 90s style! She could not have worn it better with her gorgeous wild curls!
This Fall, hats are big accessories and a must to complete an outfit. We’ve spotted already 2 fashion followers with beanies:

Here’s a fun fall look for all of you up north. I love wearing a fun girly dress and giving it some edge with a man’s leather jacket and some combat boots.
I kept the makeup pretty simple because I felt it would be too hard for a day outing to rock red lips (even though nothing makes me feel more confident than a red pout)
The Dress is from Maggy London
Leather Jacket from Topman (It’s a man’s leather jacket btw… shhh)
Boots from Browns
Bag 1 from Zara
Bag 2 from Aldo
Hat from Club Monaco
On our 1 year anniversary, we would like to thank our followers and all those who supported and helped us this year.
To our friends and family, thank you for your unconditional support.
Stay tuned for more fashion, beauty and passion!
Here’s a great look for the fall. Don’t you love how this fashionista is embracing her curls? We certainly do.
About 2 hours south of the capital, lies the city of Jacmel. Known for its yearly carnaval and miniature bananas, the city offers a typical Haitian province experience to tourists with its sandy beaches and artisan presence.
Although it was a quick weekend trip, getting away from the dynamism of Port-au-Prince and changing scenery was much needed.
Wearing ASOS top, maxi skirt from XOHO boutique, and Society Misfit cross body bag.
Rock pajama chic this fall like these Celebs:

“I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!”
Yes we’re all guilty, so don’t try to hide it. It’s very true that we buy nice clothes, but after a couple of wears, they feel old and you can’t match them with anything (neon prints??? laced bustiers? WTH?)
The key, as I have found, is to have your basics down. If you have durable, timeless pieces that go with absolutely everything, you always look put together and chic. Who cares if you wore that Proenza leather jacket to death? It looks even more amazing as it ages. “Didn’t she wear that pair of jeans last week?” Uh yeah, because it gives her a “Cul d’enfer”. Listen up people, you want to always look like you know what your doing when it comes to fashion? Well, get down with your basics and build around those key pieces.
